I’ve Made Only One New Year’s Resolution!

I’ve Made Only One New Year’s Resolution!

The countdown is on. And with only three days left in 2013, I’m ending on a high note. This morning, my painting below was featured on Kathy Temean’s inspiring writing and illustrating blog (along with forty-two, super-talented illustrators). Thank you, Kathy!

I’m also looking forward to ringing in 2014. It’ll be a new year, and a new beginning.

And I’ve made only one resolution for 2014.

“Put God in charge of all of (my) work (dreams), then what (I’ve) planned will take place.”

Proverbs 16:3. (The Message)

That doesn’t mean I get to sit back and wait for my dreams to miraculously appear. Nope, I still have to work hard. But I’ll also work smarter which means cutting back on social media so I can spend more time doing what I love most–illustrating and writing.

May 2014 be filled with joy, love, and peace.

Happy New Year from Matilda, Indy, and ME!

Tracy

Have you made any resolutions for 2014? If so, what are they?

I escaped from my mason jar, and I’m ba-ack! And I’m ticked! If Tracy was around, I’d smack her upside the head with my watering can.

Do you want to know why? I’m gonna tell you why.

Today, Tracy is a featured artist over at that talented author and illustrator’s blog—Kathy Temean. But out of the thirty plus masterpieces being showcased, my be-ee-a-u-ti-ful mug shot isn’t on display. The rinky-dink illustration of me on this banner doesn’t count. 6 Tips to Help Your Teenager Cope with Stress

6 Tips to Help Your Teenager Cope with Stress

“Stress should be a powerful driving force, not an obstacle.”

Bill Phillip

I had more than one powerful force driving my stress this past week. But I coped and I was able to turn it around by helping a special teenager in my life.

Monday, I worked a sixteen-hour day. A few bills got paid.

Tuesday, I woke up with a sore throat. All week, I crunched and chewed Vitamin C and drank gallons of water laced with Oil of Oregano. The oily solution soothed my throat, but it tasted worse than swallowing battery acid. 🙂

Are You Up for Another Challenge?

Are You Up for Another Challenge?

“There is no Challenge more challenging than the challenge to improve yourself.” Michael F. Staley

According to Susanna Leonard Hill’s loyal tribe of followers, Summer, Short & Sweets was a smashing success.

Monday, Susanna launched a Fall, Short & Sweets Challenge, and if I’m not mistaken, the challenges will be every other Monday.

I’ve hoped on board, even though it’s Tuesday. And I’m still not offering sweets.

Are You Ready for Week 2’s Summer Short & Sweets Challenge?

Are You Ready for Week 2’s Summer Short & Sweets Challenge?

Welcome back to the 2nd installment of Summer Short & Sweets.

Before I reveal what I’ve written, I need to clarify that I wasn’t late last week. Susanna Leonard Hill said as long as the entry is posted on her blog before next week’s round is announced we’re good to go. What a relief. I’m now three days late, but that’s only if you go by last week’s rules. Continue reading “Are You Ready for Week 2’s Summer Short & Sweets Challenge?” »
