Well, it’s not my birthday. It’s not my anniversary. And it’s not Christmas.
It’s…Bring Your Bible to School Day. Unfortunately, that’s not happening here in Canada.
Many, many, decades ago, I was allowed to read the Bible and recite the Lord’s Prayer in public school each morning. I took for granted that this everyday occurrence would always be part of our Canadian heritage/culture. Not so.
However, today, schools all over America have climbed on board.
Jim Daly, President of Focus on the Family, is:
“…celebrating that more than 100,000 students are expected to
participate in #BringYourBible to School Day.”
I’m celebrating with my American neighbors that (at least for today) children are “allowed” to bring their Bibles to school.
I was especially encouraged when I read this quote written by Brytney, a fourteen-year-old girl:
“If you believe in God…take a stand, be like thousands of others and bring your Bible to school.”
Okay, so I’m too old to attend public or even high school, but I’m not too old to take a stand.
Will you be ewe-neek today and join me on my Facebook page to share your favorite Bible verse?
Here’s my verse:
“A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul.” Proverbs 13:19a (NKJV)
Blessings and Hugs,
Tracy
