Hi folks! Indy here.

I’ve created this page because I want to shine the spotlight on fur babies. But I’ll need your help. Please submit the following:

  • the two best photos of your fur babies—dogs, cats, ferrets, lamas, and even rats will do,
  • your fur baby’s registered name, if you have a purebred,
  • your fur baby’s name or nickname,
  • your fur baby’s date of birth or the date your fur baby passed away,
  • the breed of your fur baby,
  • your fur baby’s birth weight,
  • today’s weight,
  • other interesting tidbits, and
  • a short story that’ll make me laugh or cry.

If you’re not a writer, don’t worry. I’ll tweak your story and make it shine brighter that the shiniest star in the galaxy.

The first photo and story will appear as a post on Mum’s my blog. Click through to read the first story I wrote about my older brother, Patches.

Then, on this page, I’ll add a second photo and the information I’ve requested. If you don’t have all of the information I’ve asked for, please send in what you have.

Just imagine—your fur baby can be immortalized forever!

Since I’m the one who created this cool page, I’ve included one of my baby photos.

That’s me at eight weeks old, wearing one sweet Harley shirt!

I sat on the coffee table and listened to Mum read the novel she’s working on.

Registered Name: My breeder named me Leanonme’s Indygo

Nickname: Mum and Pop call me Indy

Date of Birth: November 11, 2011

Breed: I’m a Chinese Crested Powder Puff

Birth Weight: 2 pounds, 3 ounces

Today’s Weight: Slim and trim at 8 pounds, 4 ounces

Interesting Tidbits: I love wrapping my paws around anyone who’ll hold me. I curl my paws under me just like a cat, and then I take a nap on the top of the sofa. My eyes are the same color as Paul Newman’s—piercing blue.

Here’s the second photo of my older brother, Patches!

Patches is a Harley dude too!

Registered Name: He doesn’t have one because Mum purchased Patches at a pet shop

Name & Nickname: Patches and/or Squishy

Date of Birth: December 5, 2002

Breed: An extra-large, black and white Shih Tzu

Birth Weight: 5 pounds

Today’s Weight: A hefty 24 pounds

Interesting Tidbits: Patches was featured in a 2004 Shih Tzu doggie calendar. He’s very particular about who he hangs out with. Actually, he’s a snob. Patches gets stressed out easily. Foam forms at the corners of this mouth, and then he drops a foot of drool at Mum’s feet. Yicky!

Schultz-y, my new fur baby friend, made a special appearance on Mum’s my blog today.

Because I want to pay tribute to all my fur baby friends, I present another handsome photo of Schultz-y.

Look, folks, he signed his name and sent me an early Valentine’s greeting!

Schultz-y, you’re one smart doggie. If I lived near you, I’d wrap my paws around your furry neck and give you a great big lick. Then we’d have fun rolling around in those crunchy leaves.

Here’s more juicy stuff about Schultz-y:

Registered Name: Mickey Schultz von Banfyhaus

Cool name! You’re definitely a purebred. Maybe you’re even a baron.

Name & Nickname: Schultz

I like Schultz-y.

Date of Birth: September 11, 2010

Hey, you’re exactly 11 months older than me!

Breed: German Shepherd

I bet you’re a good guard dog.

Birth Weight: ??

What? Your mommy doesn’t know? Too bad. 🙁

Today’s Weight: 97 pounds

Hmm…97 divided by 8 equals…wow, you weigh 12.125 times more than me.

Interesting Tidbits: Schultz likes munching on ice cubes and chasing reflections. He also likes howling along with sirens.

I don’t munch on ice cubes, but I do love chasing reflections, and I howl whenever someone peels up our driveway.

So folks, now you can click through to read all about Schultz’s Wild Food Rampage.

Big sister, Emma and Diesel stole the dog’s bed for a nap. 🙂

For more cool stuff about Diesel, please keep reading.

Registered Name: He’s not a purebred so it’s just Diesel 🙂

Diesel, it’s okay that you’re not a purebred. I still like you.

Name & Nickname: Diesel (though Chris has taken to calling him Captain Insano because of how silly he gets when he’s playing)

My pop says I’m insane too because I tear up and down the furniture.

Date of birth: We don’t know his real date of birth, but our vet guesses it was around August 4th.

Breed: Domestic shorthair

Birth Weight: Less than a pound

Today’s Weight: 5.8 pounds and still growing

Diesel, you’ll have to gain a couple of pounds to catch up to me.

Interesting Tidbits: His favorite toy is a fuzzy purple octopus, and he loves playing tag in his cat tunnel with his “big sister” Emma (our three-year-old cat).

I don’t have a favorite toy. I steal Patches’ toys. I wish I could get him to play tag, but he growls at me.

If you haven’t already read today’s post, click through to get the rest of the scoop on Diesel.

And don’t forget to send in your submissions to me at tracy@tracycampbell.net. Yup, I read Mum’s emails. I’d love to place your fur baby in the limelight! 🙂

Until next time…Buff! (I don’t bark. Ever!)

  1. Indy and Tracy; I was wondering “what are fur babies”? and had to find out! Your little dogs are sooooo cute. My fur baby is my 6 year old cat called CC. Very pretty, lot’s of long fur and I have to brush out the ‘knots’ every day. She hates it, but puts up with it for a few tasty ‘treats’ afterwards. Hope that you guys have a great 2013.

  2. Hi Tovah,
You may more patience than I do. That’s why poor Indy hardly has any fur. He whines like a baby if I dare come near him with a brush. Even treats don’t work. Thanks so much for your lovely comments about CC. Aren’t fur babies adorable? And now you know what a fur baby is!
Happy 2013 to you as well, Tovah! 🙂

  11. Tracy, They are adorable!! I love my fur babies and wouldn’t want to be without them in my life. My Maltese, Finnegan, doesn’t like brushing either. He runs and hides if I pick up his brush. I keep him short because I can’t imagine what he would look like if I let his hair grow long. A mess, I’m sure. My husband takes care of the Goldens. They appreciate the brushings. I like your baby’s blog.

    • Hi Launa, thanks for taking the time to check out my fur babies. You’re so right, life wouldn’t be the same without them. Patches, the Shih Tzu isn’t doing well and I’m not looking forward to the day when he goes. Enjoy your fur babies everyday. 🙂
