Meeting Myself, Snippets from a Binging and Bulging Mind. The title alone captured my attention. Brenda J. Wood’s book revealed her two secrets—bulimia and abuse. She recounted how abuse led her to believe bulimia was the answer. But the addiction almost devastated her life when she fell for the lie. In the end, she triumphed because God reached down and pulled her out of that dark pit.
The heart-wrenching moments in Brenda J. Wood’s book will have you shedding buckets of tears. Her journal entries were vivid and raw. Reading those sections was like peering through a “pain” of glass. And throughout the book, she sprinkled her story with humor, a gift she obviously possesses.
Her book is a fast read. Even if you have never dealt with bulimia or abuse it will strike a chord. If want need or want help. There is hope. Brenda J. Wood’s book offers light at the end of the tunnel with concrete answers to help you carry out the changes to overcome any addiction that has a stronghold on your life, with God’s help of course.
