Three More Greeting Cards for Your Viewing Pleasure

Three More Greeting Cards for Your Viewing Pleasure

Hello, people!

It’s me–Matilda!
Tracy’s Marketing Maven

I’m ba-ack! So grab a cup of coffee or tea and settle in.

Before I introduce Tracy’s next three greeting cards, I’ll share a bit more about her artistic journey.

Once upon a time, Tracy spotted a van plastered with ads for a company selling marketing cards to real estate agents. It parked across from her house.

Tracy set in motion her plan-of-attack with surveillance. She parted the curtains and peered out the window, waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce upon her prey—-a petite, red-haired lady in a blindingly orange suit.

One day, Tracy just “happened” to bump into the van owner. She struck up a conversation, telling the women she painted. Then Tracy asked if the lady would be interested in taking a peek at her designs.

Of course, the owner couldn’t resist. She hired Tracy to design twelve cards. Back home, behind closed curtains, Tracy kicked up her heels and performed her happy dance.

Then reality set in, and the pesky voice came a-knockin’. “Tracy, you’ll never do it.”

It was one thing to get hired, but quite another to actually produce. Tracy swallowed her fear. I can do this!

Tracy sent up prayers and began to draw. She faxed in her designs, made changes, and then painted to her heart’s content. Her deadline loomed overhead. But she delivered the goods.

The following year, she designed another twelve cards for the marketing company.

I don’t want to put you to sleep, so I’ll continue the story next time as I must get to the business at hand.

Are you ready to cast your gaze on Tracy’s next three greeting cards? Good.

  1. Tracy,
I love the quilt design and I went back to an earlier post and fell in love with the ewe. Matilda knows how to tell your story too. How long has she been in marketing? Is your store up and running on this site?

    • Hi Linda,
Thank you for letting me know which cards are your favorite. Mine is the Ewe too!
I don’t know what I’d do without Matilda, she’s a great buffer for me,
and she’s just learning the ropes.
Matilda told me I’m not allowed to announce our Grand Opening just yet.
And yes, you’ll be able to access our Whimsical Shop from the blog.

    • Hi Tina, my journey has shown me that with hard work and knocking on doors, one can slip in when the door is opened a crack. Timing and connecting with the right people plays a huge factor as well. Oh believe me, I’ve had lots of rejection too! 🙂

    • Hi Susanna, your enthusiasm makes me feel warm and fuzzy like my cards.
Thank you for your encouragement! 🙂
And I’m glad you’ve enjoyed reading my story so far.

    • Hey Sherry, wouldn’t that be cool if Hallmark came a-knockin’ on Matilda’s door.
Thanks for your wonderful words. 🙂

  2. A painting, a drawing or a sketch……….all just cleverly placed lines. It is the story behind that artwork that makes it special……….thanks for sharing your beautiful story of faith and courage to overcome human judgement.

    • Miss Terrol, I keep telling you that you need to call yourself a writer.
“Yeah!” Matilda said. “You express yourself so bee-u-ti-fully!”
My aim in sharing my story is just to help others realize they can achieve their goals.
Thanks so much for commenting! 🙂

  3. Loving these. I’m going to try to get back into sending cards come the New Year. You can expect an order in the next few months.

    • Hi Amberr, thank you, thank you. Matilda’s taking a bow for me. 🙂
I can’t take all the credit. God has definitely blessed me.
      And it doesn’t come easy.

  4. I love quilts. All of your cards have quilts in them, or bits of quilt patterns as accents. The cards are contemporary but with traditional quilting warmth. My favorite quilt quote is “Those who sleep under a quilt, sleep under a blanket of love.” Your cards carry that sentiment!

    • Hi Marylin, I love quilts too, as you can tell. My beds and walls are covered in them.
The quilt quote is priceless. I wish I had thought of that. Do you know you wrote the quote?
Can I use your line–The cards are contemporary but with traditional quilting warmth?
I should get Matilda to contact you for some marketing advice. Thanks! 🙂

      • Many years ago, as a wedding present, my husband and I received a lovely framed quilt piece with the quote handwritten beneath it: “Those who sleep under a quilt, sleep under a blanket of love.” There was no signature beneath the quote, so we always saw it as our motto (we sleep under quilts).
You are welcome to use my line about your cards. I’m pleased that you like it, and I wish you every success with this wonderful adventure!

        • Hi Marylin,
What a beautiful wedding present you received! And again, I just love the quilting quote. 🙂 Thank you for granting my wish, and for your endorsement. 😀

  5. These are beautiful cards too. Good job Matilda and Tracy! Thank you for checking in during the Hurricane… your kind wishes were appreciated!

  6. You’re soooooo talented!!!!!!!!!! These are stunning! I adore the way you play with colors! Your palettes are awesome!
